What do you think about using prisoners for research?

If a person commits a crime and is sentenced to prison, do you think that they should have the option of voluntarily participating in clinical trials or other experiments in order to pay their debt to society?

What do you think about using prisoners for research?
I think that a person sentenced to death should be given the option to convert that to life in prison but with the warning that the experiment may kill them or harm them greatly.

I think that a person sentenced to a certain number of years should have the option to reduce some years (but not all, still need to learn their lesson) but with the warning that the experiment may hurt them a lot (less risky experiments than those on death sentences).

Some experiments are better on humans than on animals. What better way to solve this option but for VOLUNTARY recurits in exchange for lessor punishment.
Reply:i think they should take all the prisoners who are serving life should be forced to do medical research that way they will not be harming a productive member of society in the process of discovery to help people.
Reply:maybe in some situations it should go towards their debt, i dont see nothin wrong with, they are state property
Reply:of course, they should be given the option. but, what better things are there to do in the pokey? i mean, aside from tattooing and protecting the nether-regions. if some good could come out of them serving time, i'm all for it.
Reply:I don't know if this is a very good idea Dr. Mengele . . .
