Hey all. I have an interview with DFCI coming up for their clinical research coordinator position and I was wondering if somebody could share with me their experience or can offer me some questions as to what they ask during interviews for clinical research coordinator positions. Ok thanks.
Interview tips for Dana Farber Cancer Institute Clinical Research Coordinator?
I can't speak for Dana Farber specifically but oncology trials are generally very long complex studies. And today they try multiple therapies and titrations so there is a lot of tracking and regulatory work. I would imagine they will want to know your oncology experiences. If you don't have any push any clinical certifications through SOCRA or ACRP along with experience in regulatory work (IRB requirements, FDA regulations, ICH regs).
Even if you don't have to the reg work in your job, to me it ensures you will complete source docs and CRFs properly. Especially important at a place like this which probably recruits large #s of patients and therefore draws the scrutiny of the FDA or OHRP in audit forms. A research coordinator who doesn not follow regulatory rules creates a problem.
If you do not have the experience above don't sweat it because you already have an interview so they must like what they saw on the CV. Simply knowing the acronyms above will show your interest and ability to learn.
Look at their trials and their protocols see if you can relate to their studies. Look at their website and see if you can find the depts hierarchy so you know who you are talking to and talk to them appropriately.
Finally, always always always be nice to the secretary. If I'm on the line I always ask my secretary what she thought, and you would be surprised how many people who are great to me treat my co-workers like garbage.
Reply:When I used to do job interviews, I was a bit of a nervous wreck to say the least.
I ended up stumbling on an job interview guide online found here: http://tonydanza1.tpicom.hop.clickbank.n... that's been pretty invaluable to me since, landed a job the very first day of searching.
