What do you think of Clinical Research as a career option?
No doubt that clinical research is an emerging field, but much hype is being created in India. The toughest part is to get the first job as all organizations expects candidates with atleast 6 months of experience. There is ofcourse many institutes to give education in this field but none can assure that all their students will be absorbed, they can at best assist them. As a result only few get absorbed after completion of course and rest are left with uncertainity.
Then comes the demand and supply factor. Based on the hype created on clinical research, most institutes are enrolling students, charging hefty fees but at this stage requirement in industry is not proportional to the enrolled students, as a result most of them are still trying to get the first job. The students who wishes to make it as a career should keep this factors in mind and not to get away with the hype.
